The LAB-Simulator, developed for Roche Diagnostics AG, is now successfully used since 3 years. With the new version sobedi’s sub company apinso upgraded the LAB-Simulator to the actual appeleon version. Thereby it was possible to improve the divisions navigation and performance essentially. Now it´s possible to develop test-designs much easier and faster and in addition with the finish of the new version there is also a webclient available.The provision on the production system will be in January 2010.

In the context of the redevelopment of c8000 data manager 1.00.00 by Roche Diagnostics AG, sobedi’s sub company apinso was assigned to design and develop the required Unit Tests with LAB-Simulator. During the formal validation of c8000 data manager the development was finished successfully.

After 3 years of successful development by sobedi’s sub company apinso, the Generic Object Framework will now be repositioned as 'appeleon'.
'appeleon' stands for applications adapting to your requirements like a chameleon!
In this context, new efficiency-increasing functions were developed, like a wizard-supported web-configuration tool and advanced multi-client capability.
For example, it is now possible to run several applications on just one system instance.
In a new configuration mode named 'appeleon quickstart', for the first time even end-users can create their own simple web applications, while the configuration mode called 'appeleon expert' can be used for creating complex applications via rich client. sobedi will continue to act as sales and implementation partner.

In cooperation with sobedi informationsmanagement gmbh and the University of Applied Sciences in Mannheim, Frank Breitinger has successfully completed his bachelor thesis with the topic "Extending a Generic Framework to provide Web Service Functionality".
Goal of his work was to extend the Generic Object Framework (GOF) with generically created web services. This enables us to easily provide web services tailored to the configuration of a customer solution without additional implementation.

Applications remarkably faster and with less time and effort, with this goal sobedi’s sub company apinso developed the Generic Object Framework (GOF).
In 2008, the key advantages of GOF like the reduction of development time were proven in new solutiones based on GOF, once again. In the passed year we continuously developed GOF and now we launched the version 1.01.00. Amongst others the display-options for input data were extended. The colour or the font-art of field contents can now be changed and it is possible to display objects nested. We implemented further simplifications in the configuration, e.g. wizard-guided configuration. Moreover the possibilities of transferring existing configurations from one system to another via webservice are now extended.

Launching a software for a complex field means high demands to the configuration-know-how of support staff at Roche.
Therefore Roche Diagnostics AG charged sobedi’s subsidiary company apinso with the conception and implementation of an Application Configuration Tool (ACT) in order to map the configuration-processes and their contents.
Like all solutions built by apinso the ACT is based on the Generic Object Framework (GOF).

After a years productive use, 4i immocare gmbh assigns sobedi with a redesign of layout. As well as optic and ergonomic changes many new functions will be implemented on a basis of the updated GOF version.
Especially the authorization concept will be extended in order to give all members of the real estate community an ideal access to the data basis via web.

Placing pilot projects it is challenging to combine the clients requirements with the specialist knowledge of potential contractors.
For this reason sobedi supports EverQ in the selection of the best contractor for the SAP-BW-Pilot division purchasing department.

We developed the GOF Support Tool (GST) in order to support the documentation, implementation and the validation of our Generic Object Framework (GOF) as well as the various solutions based on GOF.
As a matter of course the GST is implemented on the basis of the generic object framework. Key features are amongst others:
- simple training on the job through documentation of all features with dedicated glossary
- integrated documentation of configured features, which are automatically available in all solutions based on GOF. Hence the configuration will be quicker and faster.
- testing through generic test-objects, the complexity of validation will be reduced and the software's quality will be raised once more.

sobedi’s subsidiary company apinso is assigned to extend the number of simulation-scenarios in LAB-Simulator on a large scale. Focused are simulations of additional laboratory equipment as well as the reproduction of various clients.
Apart from that, validation of various configurations in the cobas IT solution platform will be widely extended.

For this reason sobedi invests in its own, qualified recruits and employs two more BA-students for the academic year 2008/09.
Sebastian Thesenvitz is our second student who starts his apprenticeship in “information management” to become a business data processing specialist (BA). For the first time sobedi also decided to educate a student in the study course “applied informatics” in cooperation with the BA Mannheim. Stefan Baust is the first student in this study course.

To assure the above average growth of Roche Diagnostics AG in the next years, they increased the invest in their activities regarding knowledge management and knowledge transfer (training, etc).
Here sobedi supports its customer in the definition of an overlapping knowledge-structure and a revision of the training plans for the internal and external staff of the cobas-IT environment.

In cooperation with its long-lasting partner PI-Informatik GmbH in Berlin, sobedi supports EverQ GmbH in Bitterfeld in their optimising operations and the development in their SAP-solutions. Besides the prioritisation and coordination of Change-Requests, a development of a Business Intelligence solution and the import of a CRM-solution are planned for the second part of the year 2008.
EverQ GmbH is one of the leading global high-tech companies in solar industry.

As a side effect of  implementing the report framework for Roche Diagnostics AG, our Generic Object Framework (GOF) has gained new functionalities.
Especially noteworthy is that the possibility of integration to partner systems of GOF was extended. Now, users are able to upload data via web services or out of XML-Files. The new version contains configurable navigation trees which can be flexibly adapted to the requirements of a solution. The configuration of GOF is now supported by an interactive key down support and a context dependent information display.

After an analysis of the cobas IT-Web application WebCard, which is used for the communication between hospital stations and laboratories, its performance was further optimised. The points of focus in this action were a detailed analysis of the performance of the Oracle database and JBoss Server.

In April, sobedi’s subsidiary company apinso successfully validated version 2.0.2.100 of the LAB-simulator at Roche Diagnostics AG. Due to improved ergonomics, the new version makes it possible to define process-oriented simulation scenarios. Another improvement is is the extended functionality of of the reporting engine; the analyses were improved.

Developing software for complex environemnts, such as the laboratory information system cobas IT, makes high demands on development and implementation processes. Roche Diagnostics AG has asked sobedi’s subsidiary company apinso to come up with with an overall service-tool concept in order to support the developing and implementation processes better and make them faster. Technologies, tools and methods as well as the proper training of the team using them will be at the center of the concept.

At the beginning of the month, Roche Diagnostics AG was provided with the basic version of the report framework for the cobas IT platform. With the new framework, Roche customers are able to implement their individual requirements to reports easily and quickly by themselves.
The basic version makes it possible for the different local subsidiaries to give an early and specific feedback of the new framework, thereby it raises the acceptance for the new solution.

As educational partner for the BA Mannheim on the study paths "information management" and "applied informatics", sobedi is available for questions and motivated discussions from interested high school graduates this year as well.

After the conception apinso was now assigned by Roche Diagnostics AG to implement the new report framework as well. With the new framework it will be possible to realise client-specific reports simple and rapid.
This solution will also be implemented on the basis of the Generic Object Framework (GOF), in order to advance the reusability of software components and to provide a basis version already at the end of February. This basis version is used to gather concrete feedback of the new framework from the Roche-Country-Organisation as soon as possible and therewith to increase the acceptance of the new framework.

After a successful 6 month productive operation of the GOF-based LAB-Simulator, which supports the testing of new versions of cobas IT platform, Roche Diagnostics AG assigned apinso GmbH with the extension of the existing solution. The key issues are the extension of functions for developer tests and expansion of simulation variants for re-creation of laboratory processes.

With the re-auditing through an international accounting firm the phase of continuous improvement of the balance relevant business processes according to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) at ABB Russia now continues successfully. As well here, ABB is supported by the long lasting partner sobedi.

Output-Management is one of the most challenging topics of the IT. To optimise the implementation of client-specific reports  for the cobas IT platform, apinso supports Roche Diagnostics AG on the concept of a new report framework.

In co-operation with sobedi informationsmanagement gmbh and the university of applied sciences in Ludwigshafen Norman Volkert has successfully completed his bachelor thesis with the topic "Open source business intelligence for the support of a software validation process".

Based on the open source BI-Suite of Pentaho a Business-Intelligence-Solution was developed, which enables the reporting of results from an automated software validation.

The practical part of the thesis is part of the module “Reporting Engine” of the LAB-Simulator, which was developed of the sobedi’s sub company apinso for Roche Diagnostics AG. The developed Business-Intelligence-Process supports the analysis and the comparison of the simulation results of new (and respectively previous) software versions through analytical data evaluation and reporting.

The 4i immocare gmbh assigns sobedi with the extension of the service-portal for efficient information exchange between building owner, occupants and suppliers in the real estate environment. This portal is based on the GOF-Platform (GOF = Generic Object Framework) developed of apinso.
